The RACE4LIFE project<\/strong> has been meticulously developed to align with and advance the European Union’s strategies in sports, physical activity, social inclusion, and equal opportunities. Representing the principles of Relatedness, Autonomy, Competence, and Education<\/strong>, the initiative seeks to enhance the capacity of health professionals by equipping them with the expertise required to leverage positive sports experiences as a tool for behavioral change in individuals undergoing treatment for Substance Use Disorders (SUD). The project’s primary aim is to create a flexible and adaptable protocol for designing and implementing sport-based interventions that promote and sustain behavior change during SUD recovery.<\/p>\n

RACE4LIFE is committed to empowering professionals with the skills needed to effectively design, plan, and deliver interventions that support recovery and foster sustainable behavioral change. These changes are intended to persist throughout treatment and extend into the process of social reintegration. Central to the project is a structured framework that bridges theoretical insights and practical application, enabling the delivery of sport-based interventions grounded in behavior change theories. The project emphasizes the clear identification and systematic implementation of behavior change techniques tailored to the unique challenges of SUD recovery.<\/p>\n

By integrating both theoretical and practical dimensions, the RACE4LIFE project not only enhances the professional competencies of health practitioners but also aligns with the EU\u2019s broader objectives of promoting health, social inclusion, and equality through sports.
